Usually ready in 24 hoursBuying a first baitcaster piecemeal usually gets you a reel that doesn't balance on the rod you picked — this pairs a Max SX low profile with a blank that was matched to it.
Why You'll Like It
- MagTrax brake system gives consistent spool control across the cast, which is what keeps a new baitcast angler out of backlashes
- Power Disk drag delivers smooth pressure under load instead of grabbing and releasing
- Rod and reel balanced as a set, so the whole thing sits right in your hand
- 24-ton graphite blank keeps the weight down for all-day casting
- Abu Garcia has been building baitcasters in Svangsta, Sweden since 1921 — the Max line is the entry into that
Best For
Spinnerbaits, crankbaits, jigs and Texas rigs for largemouth and smallmouth bass. First-time baitcast anglers and backup setups.

Every product we sell comes from an authorized distributor — GSM Outdoors, Chattanooga Shooting Supplies, or direct from the brand. Nothing is grey-market.
Warranty terms are set by each manufacturer and vary a lot — Phenix covers rods for the original owner's lifetime, Walker's is one year, Boss Buck is 90 days. The exact terms for whatever you're looking at are in the Warranty & authenticity tab on that product's page. If a claim comes up, email us and we'll help you file it.
